About Nicole LaMotte is an L.A. based photographer specializing in interiors & travel. An Illinois native, Nicole received her undergraduate degree in photojournalism from Columbia College (Chicago) and later studied commercial photography at The Brooks Institute (Santa Barbara). While Nicole has been a professional photographer for the past eight years, she began her career as a photo editor for Santa Barbara Magazine and later C Magazine. Most recently, Nicole spent four years as the lead photographer for One Kings Lane in Los Angeles. Her training and talent have allowed her to shoot for several of the world’s top interior designers. Taking the lesson learned from her father of giving back, Nicole loves to document the lives of some of the world’s most vulnerable populations including those in Africa, India and Haiti. Following the 2010 earthquake in Haiti, Nicole was so moved by the orphans she encountered that she made a return trip with a fellow artist, bringing an art therapy program to the devastated children. Using the images she photographed while in Haiti, Nicole helped stage a fundraiser to benefit the program HeART to Haiti -- and ultimately the children who touched her so deeply. Plans are being made for future philanthropic trips.
